Pilot Deployment Project

MCERN is currently evaluating the feasibility of a small pilot communication site intended to support community communication continuity across the Montville–Boonton area.

The proposed pilot deployment is intentionally small, self-contained, and designed to minimize impact while allowing real-world evaluation of coverage and site suitability.

No Site Power Required

The pilot deployment is designed to operate independently and does not require a site power connection during evaluation.

Evaluate First

The purpose of the pilot deployment is to validate coverage, fit, and operational impact before discussing any long-term installation

Small Test Installation

The pilot deployment would consist of a compact communications cabinet, battery enclosure, and modest solar array designed to operate independently of commercial power.

Low Impact and Removable

The pilot system is designed to be quiet, low-profile, and removable. No permanent construction is proposed during the evaluation phase.
